Sense of wisdom

I often find myself thinking about what makes people laugh, what softens the atmosphere, and how to live each day with a smile myself. If I’m honest, I also want to deepen my sense of wisdom. That’s probably why I spend so much time reading. One day, almost casually, I thought: “I want to become better at humor.” So I asked a Jewish friend about it. The conversation that followed was unforgettable. Not long after, I came across a book by Hideaki Kase called The Wisdom of Jewish Jokes. Since then, it has remained close at hand — a book I can open whenever I need perspective, warmth, or simply a good laugh. Today again, I sat outside reading it, smiling to myself from time to time. One passage especially stayed with me: “Laughter has long been humanity’s ultimate life force. Without laughter, perhaps people would lose the courage to live. For the wounded, laughter is healing. For the courageous, it is grace and composure.” The older I get, the more I feel that laughter is not something trivial. It is intelligence, resilience, and kindness all at once. Still hoping for a second volume someday. #WisdomInLaughter #JewishHumor #BooksAndLife #QuietMoments #ReadingJourney
